General Information

Where is the Isle of Wight Festival?
The Isle of Wight Festival is held at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight.

When is the Isle of Wight Festival?
The 14th Isle of Wight Festival is on the 22nd, 23rd & 24th June 2012.

Don't Forget Your Festival Wristband
Please read the instructions carefully and ensure that your wristband is correctly fastened as per the instructions and so that it can't be removed without being cut. You can enter the Festival at either Campsite entrance or through the Medina Leisure Centre entrance, whether you are camping or not.

Festival Buses 
Southern Vectis will be running return festival shuttles back to all ferry ports to connect with all departing ferries (including departures through the night). Bus Transfer included in package

IOW Festival Site Opening Times

Friday gates open at 2pm, the Main Arena closes at midnight, Strawberry Fields close at 2am

Saturday gates open at 11am, the Main Arena closes at midnight, Strawberry Fields close at 2am

Sunday gates open at 11am, the Main Arena closes at 11pm, Strawberry Fields close at 1am


YOU HAVE TO BE 18 YEARS OLD TO DRINK & PURCHASE ALCOHOL, PLEASE BRING PROOF OF AGE AS YOU MAY BE ASKED FOR THIS AT THE BAR.

All Festival shuttle buses arrive at and depart from our own bus station on the Campsite. If you are not camping you can still arrive at and depart from here.

Buses To/From the Ferry terminals will operate between 7am - 2am each day and through to midday on Monday. These buses only sell single tickets which are £6 per person and payable only in cash (Children pay half price).  Ferry/Site Bus Tickets are included in the IOW Festival Ticket and Hotel Package.

Access to Newport
Newport is the Island’s main town and retail centre. Close to the bus station are Somerfield, Morrisons and Marks and Spencer. There are also plenty of cafes and pubs in town. Get there on the Newport shuttle bus, or it is a 15-30 minute walk, depending which part of the festival site you are starting from. 

Inside the Arena Info

If you travel to the festival on a bus you will arrive at the campsite where you can gain entry through the campsite into Strawberry Fields and the main arena. You will walk back the same way if you are catching a bus at the end of the festival. 

Your wristband is needed to gain access all weekend so take care of it, replacements will not be issued.

The Hampshire Constabulary will be conducting a structured drug disruption operation again at this year’s event. They will utilise passive drugs detection dogs during the course of the weekend covering points of entry to the site. Amnesty bins will be provided in advance of these check points to give people the opportunity to surrender illegal substances.

Food and Drink
Please do not bring any food or drink into the arena, with the exception of soft drinks in plastic bottles, with unbroken seals (up to 500ml per person). Exceptions can be made for diabetics or those with specific dietary requirements. 

Alcohol
You have to be 18 years old to purchase and drink alcohol, please remember to being proof of age as you may be asked at the bar.

Facilities in the Arena & Strawberry Fields
There are bars and stalls as well as plenty of toilets! You will find Welfare marquees’ in the campsite and the festival arena. Welfare will provide you with information on the site as well as travel (ferries, buses). The following services are also provided; counselling, message board, lost property, lost persons, health promotion (general & sexual). There are several ATM's located behind the horse shoe of concessions as you walk through the arboretum from the arena into Strawberry Fields. There are stand pipes were you can get free water thoroughout the site.

Welfare and Lost Property Services
You will find Welfare Marquees in the Campsite and in the Main Arena. Welfare will provide you with information on the site as well as travel. The following services are also provided: counselling, message board, lost property, lost persons, health promotion (general & sexual).

Safety & Security
Please do not crowd surf- you risk being evicted from the Festival. Have a look around and work out where your nearest emergency exit point is. Always follow the instructions and warnings of security personnel. If you feel distressed please ask to be taken or make your way to the Welfare tent, try not to panic. If you feel unwell, please ask to be taken to the medical tent.
