George Michael resumed his Symphonica tour in Vienna last night - George Michael told fans in Vienna it was 'great to be alive' thanking the medical staff who treated him for near-fatal pneumonia in the city last year. Some 300 staff from Vienna's General Hospital attended the show, after being given tickets as a thank you gift. "This is one of the greatest honours of my life, to sing to the men and women who saved my life," he said. George performed a rendition of Nina Simone's Feeling Good at the request of one of the doctors.
George donated 1,000 tickets to medical staff, however, with the singer's permission, the hospital sold its remaining tickets to raise money for lung disease research.

The rescheduled and brand new ‘Symphonica’ tour dates will include performances in Austria, The Netherlands and France where George Michael will make history when he becomes the first pop artist ever to perform a special gala charity concert at the Palais Garnier Opera House in Paris on September 9th, 2012. George will also return to the UK to play dates in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Sheffield, Newcastle, Cardiff, Liverpool and London. Good news is coming out from twitter as George Michael recuperates on holiday - his tracheotomy scars are healing - George tweets "he was worried he looked like a murderous horror film character" surely not!
George is also reported to be working on new material he tweets " just finishing a ballad that I think is going to make you think my eighties self has been re-born ! "
'Spoke to doctors before I came away and they told me my recovery is way quicker than can usually be expected so I'm happy as Larry.'
George also wrote on his personal Twitter page earlier this week, to let fans know he is hoping to make up the cancelled tour dates.
George wrote about his plans to hit the road again after he makes a full recovery - "realistically I can't see my vocal cords being ready till the summer, but then I have to think about people losing out if they are on their summer hols. So September seems the most likely. Sorry about that everyone. Rest assured I will use the time wisely... As in... working on improving the show, mixing the live tracks, finishing brand new tracks!

George Michael has admitted that his recent bout of pneumonia was "touch and go for a while" and was "the worst month of my life". George who has returned to London following a month-long stay in a Vienna hospital, said he was "very weak" but added he feels "amazing". In a press conference outside his home, an emotional Michael said he still has "plenty to live for". He was forced to shelve the remaining 14 dates of his tour after falling ill.
George acknowledged the gravity of his illness, explaining that the General Hospital (AKH) in Vienna was "the best place in the world I could have been". "They spent three weeks keeping me alive, basically... I'm incredibly fortunate to be here.

George Michael Tour - George is set to hit the road for a new tour as announced on his Twitter pages - Which is fantastic news for all George Michael fans. In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page on Friday, George posted, "Ok, get ready people, Tour dates announced next Wednesday!!! This tour will be very different from 25 Live tour."

George Michael is supposedly to tour again (great News for George Michael fans!) with his coming single Every Other Lover In The World. - George Michael announced a tour on his Twitter page but didn't say which cities he'd visit, hinting it would be a club tour, not arenas. - "Not your usual arena tour, something way more special on house track, hope u are all ready," he wrote. George Michael 25 Live Tour began in Barcelona, Spain on September 23, 2006 and was originally scheduled to end at Wembley Arena in London, England in December, but due to demand from fans — continued into 2007 providing more gigs in large arenas and stadiums throughout Europe. In 2008, George went on to tour North America with 25Live, came back again to Europe to play his final shows in London and ended the tour at Copenhagen's Parken Stadium on August 30, 2008. With his two-year 25Live Tour - which was described as 'a celebration of his 25-year career in music' - George Michael entertained around 1.5 million fans across Europe and North America.
George Michael performed three 'exclusive, one-off shows' in Australia in February and March 2010. The first one in Perth at Burswood Dome on Saturday 20 February and then headed to Sydney to perform at the Sydney Football Stadium on Friday 26 February. His final Auatralian show date was at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.

In 25 years, and at 42 years of age, George Michael can already look back on more than 80 million record sales worldwide. George has achieved a mere six US No.1 singles from his debut album, eleven British No.1 singles and six No.1 albums in his carrer so far. He has also played at some of the biggest and most important concerts in history (Live Aid, the Nelson Mandela Freedom Concert, the Freddie Mercury Tribute), all in front of capacity audiences at Wembley Stadium and in front of many millions watching throughout the world. But that was the beginning, an early phase or two.
George Michael was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou on 25 June 1963 in North London. He met his future Wham! partner Andrew Ridgeley at a nearby comprehensive school. They formed their first band, The Executive, in 1981, but soon realised their chosen path lay as a duo: Wham! was born.
Within a year they had released their classic debut single, 'Wham Rap', but it was their second single, 'Young Guns (Go For It!)' which became the first in a string of Top 10 hits.
