He also studied at University of Edinburgh and the University of Groningen. At Edinburgh University he graduated in law and was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1737. Directions
BY CAR: Via the M8, take the A71, the A70 then the A8. Turn right onto Lothian Road at the west end of Princes Street. Turn left onto Laurieston Place at The Tollcross. From Edinburgh Airport, take the A8 into the City Centre and turn right into Lothian Road, then follow the directions above.
BY TRAIN: From Edinburgh Waverley, the hotel is a 20 minute walk along Princes Street and along Lothian Road.
